Obituary for Celia "Helen" Diaz

Helen (Celia) Diaz, 79, of Guadalupe, CA passed away on September 21, 2017.
Helen was born in Guadalupe, California on February 18, 1938. She worked for Byrd Packing Shed for many years. Later she worked for the Guadalupe Union School District at Mary Buren Elementary School’s cafeteria and retired from that position in 1999 after 28 years of service.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael Guitron and Maria Miranda; her siblings, Juanita, Frank, Carmen, Dolores, David, Aurora, Rosa, and Angelita, and her stepfather, Pablo Acosta. She is survived by her four loving children, Teresa Diaz, Isabella Diaz Garcia (Jose), Raul Diaz (Diana), and Jose Diaz (Cynthia). She is also survived by seven grandchildren Carlos, Raul Jr, Adrian (Bianca), Andrea (Henry), Julian (Monique), Nicholas, and Christopher; ten great grandchildren, Carlos Elias, Reanna, Emanuel, Raul III, Henry, Isabella, Gianna, Victoria, Camila and OIivia. Also surviving Helen are her sisters Ramona, Lydia, Esperanza, and sister-in-law, Jennie; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, god children, and great nieces and nephews.
Helen will be remembered as a woman of strong faith that enjoyed living in Guadalupe and for her love of cooking for her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She also had a love for listening to music, especially heart felt mariachi music, playing card games, playing Bingo, and always being surrounded by those that cherished and loved her.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at the Dudley Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria, CA, at 5:00 p.m. Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, followed by burial at Guadalupe Cemetery.
