Obituary for Genaro "Jerry" Rojas Aguirre

Genaro Rojas Aguirre “Jerry” 90 of Santa Maria, Ca. passed away on December 28, 2017. He was born on August 3, 1927 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Wenseslada Rojas and Genaro Martinez Aguirre.
Genaro served in the Army as a Corporal, enlisted in 1946, was in World War II where he received the Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medial of Japan, then was discharged in August 1947.
He married his late wife Vera on January 18, 1959 they were married for 58 years.
Genaro and his late wife Vera moved to Santa Monica, Ca. where he worked in roofing then moved back to Santa Maria, where he continued working as a roofer for Tunnel Roofing and later retired from Tunnel roofing in the early 1990s.
He loved being around family and friends passing the time away having a few beers, listening to music, BBQing, or taking a drive with his late wife Vera. He also enjoyed bowling and going out to eat with his wife at a few restaurants where they were well known by name at the Maya Mexican restaurant, El Herradero, Taco Roco, Burrito Loco, Taco Ranchero and finally the Boys restaurant.
He is survived by his children Marcella Aguirre (AJ, TJ) Santa Maria, Daniel Aguirre (Tonya) Tucson, Arizona, Paul Aguirre Bakersfield, Ray Aguirre (Susie) Glendale, Arizona, Jr. Aguirre Bakersfield.
Brother Johnny Cerecerez (Candi) Bakersfield.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He proceeded in death by his mother Wenseslada Rojas Cerecerez, father Genaro Martinez Aguirre, grandson Ray Gilbert Aguirre, wife Elvira “Vera” Aguirre

All funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at:
Dudley Hoffman Mortuary: 8:30 a.m. -9:30 a.m. Viewing and Visitation
Recitation of the Holy Rosary: 9:00 a.m.
St. Mary’s of Assumption church: 10:30 a.m. Mass
Followed by, the burial at Guadalupe Cemetery
