Obituary for Patricia Anne Scanelli

Patricia (Pat) Anne Scannelli, 83 of Santa Maria passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 25, 2018 after a short illness.

Pat was born Patricia McCroy in Brooklyn, New York on December 2, 1934. She attended public schools in Brooklyn and went on to work as an International Telephone and Telegraph operator in New York City. In 1954 Pat married Vincent A. Scannelli. They were married for 40 years and raised six children. When the children were grown, Pat went back to work as a day-care provider, accounts administrator, office manager, and customer service representative. Regardless of her busy work life, Pat liked to travel, was avid reader, and continued to be the nucleus of her family. Pat moved with her family to Santa Maria, CA in 1983 from Tustin CA; and previously lived in Rosendale, NY where she was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church and School.

Pat is survived by her sister Maureen Moleen and her husband Jim of Union, NJ; her brother, Jerry McCroy and his wife Gloria of Del Ray Beach, FL; Sister in-law Virginia McCroy of Las Vegas NV; nephew John Papp of Glendale, AZ; her daughters: Laura Ross and her husband Jerry of Santa Maria, CA; Victoria Palmer and her husband John of Fredericksburg, VA; Elizabeth Rohrbach and her husband Brad of Porterville, CA; her sons: Lieutenant Colonel Vincent J. Scannelli, US Air Force-Retired and his wife Carol of Bethesda, MD; Joseph Scannelli and his wife Cindy of Santa Maria, CA; her grandchildren: Corporal Christopher Scannelli, US Army-Retired and his wife Erica; Captain Vincent G. Scannelli, US Army Reserve and his wife Kristen, Joey Scannelli and his wife Christine; Melina Scannelli; Alyssa Scannelli; Arianna Scannelli; Garrett Ross; Jordan Ross; Evan Ross; Dylan Palmer; Cole Palmer; Kambria Rohrbach; Gianna Rohrbach; Great Grand Children: Marquette Beard; Mason Beard; Caleigh Clowdus; Carlie Clowdus; Corbyn Scannelli; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lillian McCroy; her husband Vincent A. Scannelli; two sons: Anthony Scannelli and Airman First Class Parker Scannelli, USAF; 10 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Chapel of Dudley Hoffman Mortuary.
A Mass in celebration of Pat’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Santa Maria followed by burial at Santa Maria Cemetery.
