Obituary for Lonnie Sue Westbury

Lonnie Sue was born in Old Fort, NC to the proud parents, Oda Bell & Roy Hamilton. She was the third child of thirteen children. As a child, Lonnie
was very adventurous and known to hold her own with a brew of brothers.
Old Fort left her many happy memories growing up with her siblings,
Odessa, Thomas, Samuel, Manuel, Freddie, Vera, Ezra, Aaron, Doris, Roy
(all deceased) and her two sisters still living: Wynell and Odalevon aka Voni.

After Lonnie migrated to California with her son, Eddie De Weaver, to pursue work opportunities, she accepted the Lord and became a Seventh-day Adventist, and brought the Three Angels Message to her family and instrumental in winning many souls to Christ. Lonnie loved the Lord.

She worked as a Household Engineer in many affluent households in the Santa Maria Area. With her son, Eddie they travelled to France to pursue
a multicultural education and experience and became fluent in French and
the French Culture. She was very proud that her son continued his education
and became a Physician. Dr. Eddie DeWeaver (deceased) had four children;
Eremesi, Eddie Jr, Tim and Emile.

An avid Photographer, Lonnie kept pictures and slides of almost everyone she knew. The hallways of her home was filed with photographs and memories of her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends. She later married Roosevelt Westbury and took his four children under her wings; Felice (David) White, Whitesville, SC; Derwyne Rocky Westbury, Lompoc, CA; Candace Hunter, Oakland, CA and Monica (Charles) Ford, Arroyo Grande, CA - All living and Celebrate Lonnie’s life.

Throughout her years, Lonnie Sue was best known for: Her gift of Help & Hospitality, Her “Green Thumb” and gardening skills, and Her Love For Family. She was instrumental in coordination & facilitation of the
“Moore-Flack Family Reunions in which she attended almost yearly.
She leaves to Celebrate her life Pleathora of nieces, nephews, grandchildren
& great grandchildren, friends and the multiple young people whom she took into her home and life.

Lonnie loved her Church Family and Friends, If you ever had the privilege
of gracing her table at one of her Sabbath Dinners, you definitely know great cooking and good eating! We Celebrate Lonnie and the Legacy she leaves
of good memories. Blessed be the Name of the Lord for Her Life.
