Obituary for Lucio Martinez Martinez

Lucio Martinez Martinez went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2018. He was surrounded by immediate family when he passed. He was 91.
Lucio was born in San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato on December 12, 1926 to Apolinar Martinez and Paulino Martinez. He was the third of four children. As a child, he enjoyed the outdoors and had a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together. His mother taught him the art of shoemaking, but he preferred learning mechanics instead. As young man, he worked as a truck driver and traveled throughout many parts of the state of Guanajuato.
He came to the United States with the help of his older brother, Nicolas, in 1953. Together, they worked as farm laborers throughout Central California. After a few years, he began to work as a construction worker on weekends, which eventually turned into his full time employment. In 1959, he settled in Guadalupe where he met Dolores Razo Venegas and started a family. Together, they owned and managed the Muñeca Café in Guadalupe for many years. After retiring from the restaurant business, Lucio became known as the “Mr. Fix It” of his neighborhood. Truly, he was a jack-of-all-trades.
Lucio is survived by his daughters, Dolores Razo Diaz (Jose), Irma Martinez Velasco (Jaime), all of Chula Vista, CA, Oliva Martinez Rubalcaba (Tony) of Santa Maria, CA and his sons, Rudy Razo of Lompoc, CA, Manuel Razo (Estela) of Pismo Beach, CA, Juan Razo (Concepcion) of Guadalajara, Jalisco, 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Dolores Venegas Razo, and his brother, Nicolas.
Rosary will be held Sunday, February 4th from 5:30 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service from 6:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary Chapel 1003 E Stowell Rd. Santa Maria, CA 93454. All are welcome to attend.
Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb 5th at the Guadalupe Cemetery, Guadalupe, Ca.
The family would like to express our gratitude to the community for the outpouring of love and support.
