On February 27, 2018 Martha Ann Oliva Soto was called to her heavenly home. Martha was taken suddenly at the age of 55. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Martha was known for her love for God, and her smile would light up a room. Anyone that knew her knew she was a huge Dodgers fan.
Martha was born on September 23, 1962 in Santa Maria, CA to Jose Inez Oliva and Maria de la Luz Gauna Oliva. She attended elementary to High School in Santa Maria. Her love for God started when she was young, attending Templo El Salvador along with her family. At the end of her life she was a beloved member at Pacific Christian Center in Santa Maria, CA for many years.
Martha was mostly known for being a hard worker. She started working in the strawberry fields at a young age with her parents. She was also known for working as a school bus driver and security guard on campus at Santa Maria High School. Martha also drove for Silverado, American Star, and San Luis Coastal Unified School District. She loved her job so much she tried to recruit everyone to be a School Bus Driver.
Martha was such a giving person. She was a peacemaker and hated division. She was a kindhearted woman, a woman of faith and a true Provers 31 wife.
Martha is survived by her husband, Tony Soto, her children Ruby, Mario, Bridget, Antonio, and her 5 grandchildren, her mother Maria Oliva, brothers Abel Oliva, Armando Oliva, Inez Oliva sister Maria Gonzales. There will be a celebration of Martha’s life at Pacific Christian Center at 11 am on March 16, with a reception to follow at the Filipinos Hall. Pastor Rick Bloom with officiate the service. Martha will be missed but never forgotten. Martha can now say 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Where the Lord her God will respond, my daughter I have seen you struggle. You are my loved one. You are my faithful daughter. It is time to come home. I have left my Holy Spirit to console your family and friends.
