Obituary for Barbara Ann Chapman

Barbara Ann Chapman at the age of 79 passed away unexpectedly on May 11th surrounded by her family at Marian Medical Center. The family would like to thank their staff for the excellent care she received there.

Barbara was born on Aug 13th, 1938 in Santa Maria to John Thomas and Evelyn Marie Bishop.
She attended local schools in the Santa Maria valley and graduated from Santa Maria H.S.
It was there in Santa Maria H.S. where she met the love of her life Leonard Allen "Pikie" Chapman
and married soon after they graduated from high school. They were married for 44 years until his passing in 2004. They settled in Guadalupe where they raised their two daughters. She worked for Puritan Ice for numerous years until her retirement. Barbara enjoyed painting and making jewelry. She was loved by many and will be missed.

She is survived by daughters Angela Ramos Chapman and Rebecca Lynn Chapman.
Grandchildren Crystal Ramos, Michael Ramos, Britany Ramos, Jr Ramos, Andrew Chapman,
Kassandra Chavez Chapman, Brandon Chavez and Stevee Chavez Chapman. She also had 12 great grandchildren. Sisters Beverly and Betty both of Santa Maria and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at 5pm with Rosary services beginning at 6pm on 5/22/18 at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria, ca. Funeral mass will be held on 5/23/18 in Guadalupe at Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic church at 11am followed by burial services at Guadalupe Cemetery.
