Obituary for Rosemary C. Fox

Rosemary C. Fox
Rosemary Christine Fox, 67, of Santa Maria, CA went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2018. Her son and her daughter-in-law were at her side as she peacefully passed. Rosemary was born in Old Town, Maine in 1951. Her family moved to Santa Maria when she was young. She graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1969. After high school she married Kenneth Fox. The marriage did not last and after a couple of years they divorced. Rosemary remained single up to the time of her death.
Rosemary went to work for the County of Santa Barbara in 1979. She worked hard and continued to advance her career. Rosemary retired in 2016. During that time she mentored a number of people, made strong friendships and touched a great many lives. After retirement, she volunteered at Marian Medical Center and also at the Elwin Mussel Senior Center. She enjoyed volunteering at the hospital, especially in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or NICU, “snuggler” program.
Rosemary loved to watch movies, read and found that she enjoyed swimming, a pastime exercise she picked up after retiring. She had a tremendous green thumb and could grow even the most difficult plants. Rosemary recently connected with her cousin Stephen Najjar and was looking forward to getting to know him and the rest of her extended family.
Rosemary is survived by her son John Fox and his wife Kanani; stepfather Cecil Key; half-brother Darrell Key and his wife Karen; half-sister Debbie Hill; nephew Joshua Stevens; nieces Carla and Jennifer Hill; and numerous cousins across the states.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her biological father John Bonneau; mother Vivian Key; older brother John W. Bonneau; and grandson Christopher Fox.
A memorial celebration will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Dudley Hoffman Mortuary and officiated by Pastor Robert Rush. As part of the celebration of life, the family requests that you bring your favorite picture of Rosemary as they’ll assemble a collage. In lieu of flowers, Rosemary requested that contributions be made to First Baptist Church Solvang and/or Mission Hope Cancer Center.
