Charlie “Boy” Cossa
1942-2018
Charlie “Boy” Cossa, 75, of Santa Maria, CA, passed away on March 25th 2018. Charlie was born and raised in Santa Maria, he graduated Santa Maria High in 1962, Married his high school sweetheart and soon he and his father took over a little farming business, naming it Cossa and Son. After having his own boys, renaming the business Cossa and Sons. Upon ending their career in the farming business, Cossa and Sons kept its name in the cattle industry.
Boy was known for his participation in the Rancheros Vistadores and Vaqueros De Los Ranchos, the Elks Lodge, His love for the lake, BBQing, Farming, Cattle/Brandings, his weekly appearances at the SM Country Club, Jockos and Swiss Chalet. He was proud of his Swiss heritage and of course LOVED him some wine. Boy was and always will be a true cow”boy” and a leader in the SM valley farming community. Let’s face it, he was an onry Swiss, but we all couldn’t help but love him. He will always have a special place in our hearts and even the echo of his yelling in our heads “god Dammit”. We will miss you grumpy.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Irene Cossa, and sister Nicey Hinchcliff.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years Suzi, daughter; LoriAnn, two sons; Robert and Marc, grandchildren; Kristin, Lacy, Michael, Braidyn, Madison, Morgan, and Will, greatgrandchildren; Cashlynn, Audrina, and Adrien (all also known as Charlie), Sister and Brother inlaw; Marian and Carl Bowser.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in “Boys” name to a charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
